Setting Up Skill Development Centre For Girls in Underprivileged Areas

As per 2022 report by Slum Redevelopment Authority (SRA) Mumbai, it is estimated that around 6.5 million people live in slums in Mumbai, India. The reasons for living in slums are complex and multifaceted, and can include factors such as poverty, lack of affordable housing, rapid urbanization, limited access to basic services, and informal employment opportunities.

Objective: To create a cadre of skilled women, we planned to open at least five skill development center at different places in Mumbai slums areas. The purpose is to trained them in job oriented information technology courses such as software programming, website designing, MIS trainings, computer courses for clerical job including English speaking courses etc. By getting trained, they will become self-employed or can be helped to start their own enterprises. Women will be more economically developed, and can more support their family income. It will help to reduce domestic violence on women. Anti-social activities will be reduced in the slums and the youths will be engaged in work and contribute to make the country a "New India".

Setting up Free Food Station

While everyone is aware of the fact that food wastage is a common problem all over the world, only a few really do something substantial about it.

The country is dealing with a serious problem of poverty and hunger that we need to combat and curb the problem soon. According to Food and Agricultural organization’s, ‘The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World, 2018’ report,195.9 million people are undernourished in India. There are many NGOs who are giving their best to work towards these problems but as individuals, we should also keep in mind to not waste food and make India hunger free.

Zameen Foundation under #FightFoodWaste campaign, is actively working towards finding an innovating solution to address the widespread hunger in our country. Thus we are planning to setup at least ten Food Storage Fridge this year at various place in Mumbai to provide food to those who can't afford it or having difficulties to find it.

Those in need of the food can take it from the fridge free of cost. Similarly, people willing to donate food can put the food packets in the fridge after labeling them.
