Zameen Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization registered under the Indian Trust Act of 1882. It was founded by two friends, Puran Parihar and Abdul Majid, who come from professional backgrounds. They believes that unless members of the civil society are involved proactively in the process of development, sustainable change will not happen. Following this model of Civic Driven Change, Zameen Foundation sensitizes and engages the civil society, making it an active partner in all its welfare initiatives.
Founder Member
Puran Parihar, Founder & President of Zameen Foundation, holds an MBA in Retailing. He previously worked as a Retail Regional Manager for renowned Indian retail brands including Raymond Ltd. and Siyaram Clothing. Coming from a low-income family, Parihar faced many life challenges before achieving his current position and status. Motivated to uplift the underprivileged after observing the struggles many families face in gaining equal opportunities, Parihar dedicated himself full-time to making a positive impact on society.
Abdul Majid, Co-Founder and CEO, nature lover, down to earth, raised in a educated family strongly committed to social service, and holds an MBA in Information Technology. He built his professional experience working in senior positions at Raymond Ltd., Pepe Jeans London, VIP Industries, and Kanmo Group Indonesia. Passionate about equal opportunity, Majid joined Parihar in founding Zameen Foundation.
