About Program
Across India, drivers of heavy and light commercial road transport vehicles for carrying goods and large passenger transport vehicles like buses spend long hours on the road, working tirelessly to build a better future for their families. However, financial constraints often become a barrier to their daughters' educational aspirations. To help bridge this gap, the SML Mahindra Scholarship Program 2026–27, an initiative by SML Mahindra Limited, aims to provide financial assistance to deserving and meritorious girl students, empowering them to continue their education with confidence and pursue their academic goals.
The aims to support meritorious girl students studying in Classes 11 and 12 (any stream), undergraduate degree, diploma, or polytechnic programs in any academic year in STEM and core engineering disciplines. The scholarship aims to encourage greater participation of women in technical, industrial, and manufacturing-related fields.
Eligibility Criteria
For Class 11 & 12 Students
Open to girl students studying in Class 11 or Class 12 (any stream) at recognised schools across India.
The applicant must be the daughter of a driver of a heavy or light commercial road transport vehicle for carrying goods or a large passenger transport vehicle like a bus.
Applicants must have passed the previous academic year.
Applicants must have secured at least 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA/grade) in the previous academic year.
Annual family income from all sources must not exceed INR 6,00,000.
Children of employees of SML Mahindra and Buddy4Study are not eligible to apply.
For Graduation Students
Open to girl students pursuing an undergraduate degree, diploma, or polytechnic programs (any year) in STEM disciplines and core engineering fields, at recognised institutions across India.
The applicant must be the daughter of a driver of a heavy or light commercial road transport vehicle for carrying goods or a large passenger transport vehicle like a bus.
Applicants must have passed the previous semester/academic year.
Applicants must have secured at least 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA/grade) in the previous academic year.
Annual family income from all sources must not exceed INR 6,00,000.
Applications are invited from across India.
Children of employees of SML Mahindra and Buddy4Study are not eligible to apply.
Note: In addition to meeting the above-mentioned criteria and the merit-based selection system, preferences could be given for fulfilling any or all of the points outlined below, subject to availability of the scholarships:
Applicants from Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and aspirational districts.
Persons with Disabilities (PwD)
Students from single-parent households or orphaned students
Transgender students
Applicants whose parents are not drivers of heavy and light commercial road transport vehicles for carrying goods and large passenger transport vehicles like buses are not eligible.

Driving licence of the parent who is a driver of a heavy or light commercial road transport vehicle for carrying goods or a large passenger transport vehicle like a bus
NSQF certificate/vocational course completion certificate (if applicable)
Parental income certificate/ITR issued by a competent authority
Bank account details (copy of passbook or cancelled cheque in applicant's name or joint account with parent)
Supporting documents for special category applicants, if applicable (e.g., disability certificate, death certificate, transgender certificate, or orphan certificate), to ensure equitable consideration
