Health & Medical Support

The Challenge

The health care sector in India is plagued with poor infrastructure, long wait times, high diagnostic costs and extensive travel for treatment. While 68.84% of the Indian population resides in rural areas, only 3% of medical professionals are available in these areas. Rural poor fall victim to unauthorized and unqualified medical practitioner (quacks) who extract large sums of money for ineffective treatment. Travelling to private hospitals located in urban areas can be both tedious and extremely expensive. In urban areas, quality treatment provided by private practitioners are unaffordable for underprivileged people. Lack of proper medical care makes the underprivileged communities vulnerable to various diseases, affecting their quality of life, as well as their very limited income.

The Innovation

We have set up a chain of out-patient primary healthcare system. Focused on accessibility and affordability of medical care, our expert and experienced doctors and medical support team offers medical consultation at no cost along with 1-week supply of free medication to the underserved communities. Our medical support team always ready for all rural areas with proper transportation to ensure patients' easy connectivity with our units. High-quality of care results in effective treatment, without affecting their limited income. Zameen Foundation has a sound and scalable service delivery model that is impactful towards low-income communities. We are also striving to make each medical support team as a self-sustaining unit, to help deliver services with reduced external funding.

Who We Are

Zameen Foundation is an organization striving to address the gap in the availability of low-cost primary health care for rural and urban underprivileged communities. Drawing inspiration from our Mother Teresa undying spirit to provide health care facilities to the lowest state of the socio-economic pyramid, the goal of Zameen Foundation is to set up primary health care centers in the remotest rural and urban underserved areas, and provide out-patient primary care and medication to low income, underprivileged communities who are in need of affordable and effective medical care.

Our Vision

Our vision is to set up primary health care centers in the remotest corners of India, replicating our current service delivery model. We intend to scale up and establish at least 25 centers in the next five years in the most rural areas, and over 100 new centers in the next ten years, throughout the length and breadth of our country. The provision for a mobile hospital equipped to provide basic medical services at the doorstep of the poorest is also envisioned.

Our Mission

Our mission is to eradicate the lack of health care facilities in rural India by creating a chain of primary health care units that offer high quality, affordable outpatient care in low income, densely populated regions, where health care delivery by the state is sparse.
